Jewel Brown

Graveside services were held Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Whitesand Baptist Church Cemetery for Mrs. Jewel Brown, age 95, of Monticello, MS, who passed away December 12, 2014 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Rev. James Booth officiated. Pallbearers were John Slater, Jimmy Slater, Nickolas Smith, Jason Harper, Danny Collins and Beowulf Wilson. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss, MS handled arrangements. Mrs. Jewel Brown was born September 10, 1919 in Jefferson Davis County. She was the daughter of Thomas Slater and Susan Smith Slater. Mrs. Brown was a farmer and also worked at Waldens Florist for many years. She was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
