Hazel Tolar Speights

Funeral Services were held Friday, November 7, 2008 at Phalti Baptist Church in Prentiss for Hazel Tolar Speights, age 85, of Prentiss, MS who died on November 5, 2008 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Rev. Sessions Polk and Rev. Charles Waddell officiated. Pall bearers were Scott Parish, Lee Parish, Chad Parish, Russell Dumas, Matthew Foster and Sam Foster. Mrs. Speights was born in Marion County MS on November 13, 1922, the daughter of Archie Washington Tolar and Margarie Newsom Tolar. She was a clerk for Milady’s Dress Shop in Prentiss for more than 30 years. She was a member of Phalti Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Polk of Prentiss, three grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Speights, a son and a sister.
