Robert L Bryant

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss for Robert L. Bryant, age 84, of Prentiss, MS who died on January 8, 2009 at his residence. Rev. Tommy Broome officiated. Internment followed at Brady Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Dwight Chance, Les Dungan, Phillip Herrin, John Perrin, Wesley Lee, Larry Don Spears and Corky Kerley. Mr. Bryant was born on July 4, 1924 the son of Ruben and Ida Dobson Bryant. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator in the oilfield for more than 30 years. He retired as the Road Foreman for District One of Jefferson Davis County. He was a mason and also a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Iva Jo Bryant of Prentiss; a daughter, Debra Blair of Prentiss; a son, Ricky Bryant of Prentiss; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Bryant of Texas and Billy Bryant of Columbia, MS; one sister, Betty Bryant of Gulfport, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
