Howard D Kittrell

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Howard D. Kittrell, age 59, formerly of Forest, MS who died January 21, 2009 at Covington County Hospital in Collins. Rev. James Smith and Dr. Nathan Barber officiated. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pall Bearers were Joe Ashker, Michael Kittrell, Tommy Harrell, Cody Harrell, John Sanford and Gary Collins. Mr. Kittrell was born in Pickens, MS on September 17, 1949 the son of Edward Kittrell and Ola Savell Kittrell. He worked for Sara Lee Bakery, Craft Co. Enterprises in Morton, and later at Hattiesburg Paper Company in Hattiesburg. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collins. Survivors include his wife, Judy Kittrell of Prentiss; two daughters, Sonya (Brent) Thompson of Petal; Tessy (Otis) Prestage of Forest; stepson Terry (Susan) Miller of Hattiesburg; stepson Richie (Tammy) Miller of Byram; stepdaughter Carmen (Randy) Polk of Pelahatchie; sister Nancy (James) Carroll of Hillsboro; brother Thomas (Mary) Kittrell of Pachuta; brother Clarence (Johnnie) Kittrell of Decatur; grandchildren, Lexanna and Landry Thompson; Justin, Michael, Amanda and William Allen Prestage; Taylor and Jack Miller; Joanna and Alex Polk; Justin, Michael and Christopher Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Kittrell was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ola Kittrell; brother Billy Kittrell; and his son, Craig Kittrell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Baptist Children’s Village, P O Box 27, Clinton, MS 39060.
