Funeral services were held Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Oscar Lee Weaver, age 90, of Collins, MS who passed away, November 26, 2015 at his residence in the Veterans Nursing Home. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss handled all arrangements. Rev. Trent Sullivan officiated. Pallbearers were: Melvin White, Jimmie Ray Smith, Lester Weaver, Kenny Smith, Ricky Stringfellow and Steven Stringfellow. Oscar was born September 8, 1925 in Waynesboro, MS. He was the son of Bill Stokely and Martha Weaver. He was a World War II army veteran. He worked offshore for 35 years as a driller. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Margie Weaver of Magee, MS; two daughters, Valarie Stringfellow of Laurel and Sandra Wilkie of D'Iberville, MS; his son Johnny weaver of Waynesboro, MS; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; his sister, Christine Pruitt of Mobile, AL; two brothers, Frank "Bud" Smith of New Iberia, LA and Kenny Smith of Fruitdale, AL. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Stokely; mother, Martha Weaver Smith; step father, Frank Smith; son, Kelvin Wayne Weaver; step son, Neal Hughes; brother, Eugene Weaver; two sisters, Pearl Boykin and Sue Morrell and grandson, Michael Clark.
