Alagene Wingo

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Old Silver Creek Baptist Church, Silver Creek, MS for Mrs. Alagene F. Wingo, age 89, who passed away December 12, 2016 at her residence. Interment followed in Old Silver Creek Cemetery. Saulters- Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss, MS handled arrangements. Rev. Richard Green and Rev. Micha Rutland officiated. Pallbearers were Tim Watson, John Watson, Will Watson, Dwayne Fortenberry, Terry Savage and Derrick Watkins. Alagene was born in Silver Creek, MS on January 10, 1927 to Rex Fortenberry and jewel Polk Fortenberry. She was a homemaker and she ran the Baptist Book Store for the Historical Society in South Carolina for a number of years. She was a member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda Sandifer (Keith) of Silver Creek and Patti Manning (Jerry) of Columbus, MS; One Grandchild; One sister, Peggy Gray of New Orleans, LA.
