Carroll S. Berry

Carroll Slay Berry, 82, died at his home on July 17, 2017. He was born March 13, 1935 to Med O. and Jamie Slay Berry. He was a member of New Hebron United Methodist Church. Carroll was a graduate of New Hebron High School (1954) and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed by Moss Point School District for 34 years serving as a teacher, coach, counselor and supervisor of building and transportation before his retirement in 1991. Services will be held on Thursday July 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at New Hebron United Methodist Church with Saulters-Moore Funeral Chapel in charge and interment at Old Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday July 19, 2017 at New Hebron United Methodist church from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Officiating will be Bro. Mike Dubose, former pastor, Bro. Terry Phillips, pastor of Old Hebron Baptist Church and Bro. Mike Hart, pastor. Pallbearers will be his four grandsons, Daniel Cirino, Matthew Berry, Andrew Berry, and Kane Wommack; Russ Berry and Rainey Dickerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Berry, Alan Berry, Donald Stephens, Jimmy Butler, Bill Siler, and close friends from Moss Point. Carroll is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Frances Dickerson Berry, two daughters, Mary Carol Cirino (Doug) and Beth Berry of Hattiesburg; one son Gene Berry (Tesa) of Madison; his grandchildren, Daniel Cirino (Casey Jo) of Jackson, Melissa Cirino Wommack (Kane) of Mobile, Dana Berry, Matthew Berry (Anne Caroline) and Andrew Berry all of Madison; his great grandchildren Asher and Tatum Wommack, Anna and Claire Cirino. Carroll had one brother Tom Berry (Lib) of Argyle, TX and 2 nephews Glen Berry of Grapevine, TX and Alan Berry of Lantana, TX and many other relatives in New Hebron and close friends in Moss Point.
