Funeral services for Ann Davis will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church in Collins, with Rev. Ken Hickman officiating, assisted by Rev. Dennis Davis and Rev. Phil Hickman. Interment will follow in the New Chapel United Pentecostal Church Cemetery. Mrs. Davis, age 82, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Sparrow Hills Assisted Living facility in Lucedale, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at 3:00 PM at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. Davis will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers: they include Darrell Bullock, Blake Bullock, Jacob Bulllock, Tyler Hickman, Phil Hickman, and Steve Richard.
Martha Ann Davis was born on January 25, 1943, in Prentiss to Elroy Guy Sr. and Sarah Hudson Guy.
Ann served as the housekeeping manager for Jeff Davis County Hospital and Extended Care Facility for many years, where her attention to detail contributed significantly to the well-being of those in her care. Her unwavering commitment to her work reflected her passion for service and her profound respect for others.
Family gatherings were significant to Ann, and her Sunday dinners were a cherished tradition. Known for her famous pot roast, these meals brought loved ones together, fostering warmth and connection around the dining table.
A long-time member of New Chapel United Pentecostal Church, Ann's dedication to her church community exemplified her generous spirit and steadfast values. Ann found joy in creative pursuits, enjoying the art of seamstress work by crafting clothes not only for her beloved children but also for the public.
Ann took delight in decorating homes and businesses as the holiday season approached each year, spreading holiday cheer through her artistic talent. Her craft work and floral arrangements displayed her creativity and ability to bring beauty into everyday life.
Ann Davis leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and creativity. Her contributions to her family and community will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Phil Gatwood, and her second husband, Thomas Davis; stepson Herbert Davis; brothers Johnny Guy and Micky Guy, as well as two grandsons and one great-grandson.
Those left to cherish her memory include children Ronald Gatwood (Randi) of Lucedale, Guy Gatwood (Kathy) of Prentiss, Deda Richard (Steve) of Tylertown, Bridgette Bullock of Florence; step-children Dennis Davis (Teresa) of Raymond, Tammy Lowe (Dewayne) San Antonio TX, Lori Vening (Greg) Jackson, Danille Soto (Jesse) of California, Chris Brown of Hattiesburg and DeEtte Faubel (Dan) of San Antonio TX; brothers Sonny Guy (Sharon), Glen Guy (Diane), Wayne Guy (Trish), David Joe Guy (Angie), Keith Guy (Kay), and Densol Guy; sisters Shirel Taylor and Faye Stewart; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
