Funeral services for Mr. Billy Ray Thornton will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the Cedar Grove Methodist Church, 3926 Highway 501, Raleigh, MS 39153. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Thornton was called back to heaven early Thursday morning, November 10, 2022. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Billy Ray Thornton enriched many lives with his faith, his gentleness, his talents, his cheer, his wit, and his love. He was a man of God in the truest sense. He loved his family immensely, especially his grandchildren. He was a shining example that great, kind men still exist. The world is a darker place today without him. 1945-2022.
