Brenda LeDoux, was born on February 26, 1955, in Norwood, Massachusetts, to Donald Charles and Juanita Avis Smith Ellis. Brenda, whose name resonated powerfully in music and devotion, began her journey in music and ministry at an early age, enrolling at Gateway Bible College in St. Louis in 1974. Her path ultimately led her to Jackson, Mississippi in 1975, where she attended Pentecostal Bible Institute (PBI), which later became Jackson College of Ministries (JCM). It was there that Brenda met the love of her life, Alcide LeDoux, Jr., a union that would last until Al's passing in 2016.

Brenda's professional career was marked by her exceptional skills as Administrative Assistant to the Chief Nursing Officer at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center for 20 years. In addition to her administrative expertise, she shared her passion for music by teaching music and music theory at the Jackson College of Ministries. The essence of Brenda was inextricably linked to her love for music, particularly the Hammond Organ. She was revered within Apostolic circles as a master of the keyboard, possessing a God-given gift of perfect pitch that she refined through countless hours of dedicated study and practice. Her gifting was not only used to glorify God in church services, but her exceptional talent allowed her to bring forth the most beautiful melodic strains, providing comfort to sorrowful hearts during countless funerals over the years.

Brenda’s deep love for her family was evident to all who knew her. She cherished her role as a mother and Granna, and found immense joy in scrapbooking, lovingly chronicling the moments of joy, growth, and milestones in the lives of those she held dear. The timeless keepsakes she created reflected her unwavering affection and commitment to her loved ones.

Throughout her life, Brenda demonstrated steadfast faith in her Lord and Saviour and remained a loyal servant to her church community, even amid the challenges of compromised health in her later years. Her legacy is one of music, love, and unwavering faith, and she will be remembered fondly by those whose lives she touched with her gifts and her gentle spirit. She was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

Mrs. LeDoux is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Alcide “Al” LeDoux, Jr.; her parents, Donald Charles & Juanita Avis Ellis; her sister, Bonnie Hankins; and her brother, Lloyd Ellis.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her son, Jeremy LeDoux, (Michelle) of Pflugerville,TX, and her grandsons, who lovingly called her “Granna”, Adrian and Anderson LeDoux. Brenda also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and church family.
