Funeral services for Carolton "Buster" Lee will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Whitesand Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Ted Bowlin will officiate. Mr. Lee, age 87, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord on Sunday evening, September 14, 2025, at his home in Prentiss. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Mr. Lee will be carried to his final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers. They include Brendon Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Justin Richardson, Josh Richardson, Jackie Daughdrill, and Chuck Lee.

Carolton "Buster" Lee was born on October 29, 1937, in Jefferson Davis County to Louie and Vernie Smith Lee. Known as Buster to everyone, he spent his entire life in Jefferson Davis County.

He was a graduate of Prentiss High School, where he excelled athletically, garnering respect and admiration as the quarterback for the Bulldogs. His passion for football continued at Pearl River Junior College, where he honed his skills and showcased his competitive spirit.

Buster's professional life was dedicated to the construction industry, where he made a name for himself as a finisher. His skills in painting, carpentry, and wallpaper hanging were highly regarded, showcasing his commitment to craftsmanship and quality. His work contributed to the beauty of many homes and businesses around the area.

Known for his warm and approachable personality, Buster was a man who never met a stranger. He had a natural talent for engaging others in conversation, often leaving a lasting impression with his kindness and genuine interest in others’ lives.

Outside of work, Buster cherished his time spent with his cattle and horses, finding solace and joy in their companionship. He enjoyed hunting, particularly for quail and turkey, often recounting tales of his adventures in the great outdoors. His pride in his bird dogs was evident, as they played an integral role in his cherished hunting experiences.

Mornings were often spent at Wards, where Buster enjoyed drinking coffee with friends, exemplifying his love for friendships. Those moments of connection served as a testament to his unyielding spirit and camaraderie.

He was a devoted member of Whitesand Baptist Church, where he found strength and community in his faith.

Buster's legacy of kindness, skilled craftsmanship, and love for nature will resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was rich with experiences, friendships, and a deep commitment to his passions, leaving a mark that will not soon be forgotten. As family, friends, and community come together to remember him, they will carry forward the spirit he instilled in each of them – one of warmth, openness, and unwavering support.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Vernie Lee, double first cousins but considered brothers, Myron Lee, Everett Lee, and James Lee.

His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sue Hall Lee; his daughter Connie Richardson and son-in-law Jackie Richardson of Brookhaven. The legacy of their Pawpaw will also live on through his grandchildren, Brendon Jackson (Chelsea), Nicholas Jackson, Samantha Richardson, Justin Richardson (Brittany), Josh Richardson, and great-grandchildren Paisley Richardson, Waylon Richardson, Ella Jane Richardson, and Myles Parsons.
