Cathy Marie Dauzat

Funeral services for Cathy Marie Dauzat will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, August 27, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Carson Cemetery. The Reverend Benji Sessums will officiate. Mrs. Dauzat, age 75, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Sunday, August 24, 2025, at her home in Bassfield. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dauzat will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers, Billy Boleware, Jr., Brady Boleware, Brennen Boleware, Hayden Ferguson, Brogan Mason, and Tony Reid.

Cathy was born on May 26, 1950, in Convington County, Mississippi to Robert and Vera Smith Jordan. Having grown up in Seminary, she attended the Seminary School. Cathy raised her family in Hattiesburg, and after marrying Robert Dauzat, she moved to Simmesport, Louisiana, where she lived for 20 years. After her husband passed away, she moved back to Jefferson Davis County to be closer to her sons. Cathy was a homemaker, and she loved the outdoors. Her favorite place was her yard, where she could enjoy God’s creation, watch the squirrels play, and listen to the birds sing. She also had a fondness for her chickens, some of which she had named. She leaves behind a treasury of memories that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends alike. Mrs. Dauzat was a member of Carson Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vera Smith Jordan; her husband, Robert Dauzat, and her brothers, Robert “Bud” Jordan and Sammy Glenn Jordan.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her sons, Terry “Dinky” Boleware, Billy R. Boleware, both of Bassfield, Steven Boleware (Alison) of Prentiss; step-daughters, Vikki Dauzat of Odenburg, LA, Jackie Gunnells of Lettsworth, LA; 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
