Charles C. Garner, known to most people as Chuck, entered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday morning, February 8, 2026 at the age of 87. He was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ
Chuck was born to Hollis P. and Della Garner in Prentiss, Mississippi. He passed away very peacefully on the farm where he was raised by his parents and lived with his wife, Virginia Garner.
He enjoyed the outdoors, working around the farm, gardening, building, fixing and nurturing. He would usually sit in his chair under the tree in the front yard for hours and soak up the warm sunlight trickling through the leaves. In his younger days he most enjoyed trail riding. It is fitting that we lay him to rest the day after the Dixie National Parade and wagon train that he would ride in with his granddaughter and brother in law until he physically couldn’t anymore.
One of the most enjoyable experiences in his life, that he would recall on occasion, were the times he and Virginia spent at Countryside Reunion in Indiana. Until they were physically unable to go, they enjoyed getting together with their friends each summer and sharing skills, knowledge and wisdom. They developed many friendships that still exist today.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hollis P. and Della Garner, sister, Mary Jane “Janie” Boleware, brother in law, Billy Ray Boleware. His memory will live on with his family: Virginia Garner, wife of 45 years, Children, Rhonda Garner, Chris Garner, Doug Bounds, Renee’ Churchill (Kyle), Anna Kennedy (Ken). Grandchildren, Ashley Byers, London Perkins (Andrew), Matthew Shelton, Cara Shelton, Garrett Kennedy. Great grandchildren, John Hunter Cooper, James Wyatt Churchill and Jaxon Perkins. Nieces and nephew, Ann Boleware DeVary, Alan Boleware (Julie), Sandra Moss (Harry) and Susan Boleware.
Jesus replied to the thief on the cross beside Him, “I assure you, today you will be in paradise.” Luke 23:43
