David "Crisco" Lavon Parker, Sr.

Graveside services for Mr. David “Crisco” Lavon Parker Sr. will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the Brady Cemetery. Mr. Parker, age 67, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Marion General Hospital in Columbia, MS.  Reverend Rob Webb will officiate. Pallbearers will be Connor McRaney, Seth Parker, Will Parker, Darrel Cooley, Toby Herring and Wyatt Lee. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Parker was born on October 16, 1952 in Quitman, MS to Roy Parker and Ester Effrin Parker. He spent 50 years in the oil field and was the owner of Crisco Swabbing for 19 years. Everybody knew him by his nickname “Crisco”. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife Joyce Parker of Prentiss; 1 daughter, Sonya McRaney of Seminary; 1 son, David Lavon Parker, Jr. of Prentiss; 2 brothers, Roy Parker of Birmingham, AL and Tommy Parker of North Carolina; 3 grandchildren, Connor, Seth and Will. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Saulters Funeral Home In Prentiss.
