Family and friends will gather at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Prentiss Cemetery where graveside services for Mr. Dennis Earl Stamps will be conducted. The Reverend Roland McMillan will officiate, assisted by The Reverend Randy Easterling. Mr. Stamps entered into the eternal rest of his Lord late Saturday evening, March 18, 2023, at the Ocean Springs Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ocean Springs, MS. Dennis Earl Stamps was born on August 18, 1941 in Jefferson Davis County, MS to Earl and Helen Waldrop Stamps. After graduating from Prentiss High School, Mr. Stamps enrolled in Milsaps College in Jackson, MS. After earning his degree at Milsaps, he then enrolled in the University of Illinois, where he earned his Doctor of Audiology (AuD) degree. Mr. Stamps practiced his profession of Audiology for many years in New Orleans, LA, Pensacola, FL and Chattanooga, TN, before finally joining the staff at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, LA, where he retired. During his retirement, Mr. Stamps moved back to his hometown of Prentiss to help care for his mother during her declining health; after her death, he then relocated to Ocean Springs, MS, where he resided at the time of his death. His family remarks that, among the things he enjoyed, Mr. Stamps was very passionate about his cats and dogs that provided him with loyal companionship throughout the years. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Craig Stamps. Mr. Stamps leaves behind his brother, Randy Stamps (Helen "Sissy") of Prentiss; a niece, Stacie Stamps Pitts of Hattiesburg and his nephews, Clay Butler Stamps (Kaysey) of Prentiss and Randall Blake Stamps (Hayley) of Brandon.
