Funeral services for Dorothy “Tootsie” Barrett will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield. Mrs. Barrett passed away from this life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Prentiss. Fr. Chinnappa Raj Mark will officiate, and interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be Vincent “Bubba” King, Danny Odom, Bobby Odom, Kenny Odom, Chad Skinner, Heath Skinner, Michael Skinner, Noel Skinner, Pat Skinner, Ernie Brewer, Joseph Sylvest, Joey Sylvest, George Parkman, Johnny Parkman, Bryan Pittman, and Perry Barrett, Jr.. Dorothy “Tootsie” Skinner Barrett was born on October 18, 1947 in Jefferson Davis County to Noel Skinner and Agnes Daley Skinner. Mrs. Barrett was a homemaker and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Hayward Barrett; and 11 siblings, Gerald, Martha, Gean, Geanette, Bessie, Noland, Joland, Virginia, Pauline, Lillie May, and Norbert. Survivors include 5 sons, Norbert Barrett (Misty) of Purvis, Eric Barrett of Prentiss, Jason Barrett (Jennifer) of Florida, Charles Barrett and Perry Barrett, both of Prentiss; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Eulalee Parkman of Oakvale and Agnes Keys of Pensacola, FL; and 1 brother, Harold Skinner of Petal; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at St. Peters Catholic Church.
