Interment will follow in the Whitesand Cemetery. Mrs. Lee, age 92, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, surrounded by her sons. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, beginning at 9:00 am until the hour of service at 11:00 am. at New Hebron Baptist Church.
She was born on April 5, 1933, to Albert and Lella Ware. She graduated from Walnut Grove High School and began work for Mississippi Valley Gas. On a divinely orchestrated blind date, she met the man she would marry, the late George Myron Lee, to whom she devoted 64 wonderful years. Together they had six sons— one of whom passed from this life prematurely. In 1958, the couple opened Lee’s Drug Store in New Hebron where Myron worked as the town pharmacist for over 49 years. Dedicated to service, Ms. Dot worked alongside her husband to help serve the community and raise their five boys. The Lee family spent countless hours working at the drug store, building a legacy that forever impacted their community. Ms. Dot adored showing hospitality to others, spending time with family and friends around the dinner table, and working tirelessly in the kitchen to ensure that all of her “babies” were well fed. Her children were her world!
Ms. Dot was a faithful member of New Hebron Baptist Church for many years. She will be greatly missed by the countless number of people that she impacted. She had one of the most selfless, caring and nurturing personalities of anyone you could ever meet. She loved deeply and found great joy in simply being in the presence of her family and in fellowship with the community. The most important thing in her life was knowing that her family was faithful in serving the Lord. She often said,“People that aren’t living for the Lord just don’t know what they’re missing!”
Ms. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lella Ware; husband, George Myron Lee; thirteen siblings, and her infant son, Paul Wayne Lee. She is survived by her five sons: David (Jane), Mark, Greg (Pam), Mitchell (Angie), and Michael(Amy); thirteen grandchildren: Zach, Adam, Nick, Chelsea, Ethan, Rachel, Haegan, Jarrod, Barrett, Kaitlyn, Anna, Grayson, and Cameron; fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Ms. Lee will be carried to her final resting place by those honored to serve as pallbearers, her nine grandsons.
The Lee family would like to say a special thank you to the three sweet ladies who have cared for our Mother and have made it possible for her to stay in her home in New Hebron: Thank you, Polly, Kissie, and Zenobia. Also, we are very appreciative to many in the community who helped our Mother during various times of need: Dean Banks and family, Junior Walker, Randy Shivers, and Shane Folk. We love you all.
The family requests that donations be made to the New Hebron Baptist Church building fund in lieu of flowers.
