Funeral services for Mr. Eddie Gene Douglas will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the New Hebron Baptist Church. Mr. Douglas, age 82, passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at The Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Reverend Gene Douglas , Reverend Ken Boytte and Reverend Mike Grenn will officiate. Interment will be in the New Hebron Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Chad Douglas, Justin Douglas,Micah Myers, Dylan Douglas, Drew Walters and Jason Agerton. Honorary Bearer will be Jerry Peak. Eddie Gene Douglas was born on September 12, 1936 in Jefferson Davis County to Tom Douglas and Edith Jewel Harvey Douglas. He was an inspector for a battery manufacturing plant. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his first wife, Martha Nell Baylis Douglas; one granddaughter, Kaylin Reddock; five brothers, Garland Douglas, Garvin Douglas, Ellis Douglas, Charles Douglas and John Douglas; three sisters, Jewel Dean Jenkin, Hilda Mae Bridges and Annie Laura Rampshur. Mr. Douglas is survived by his wife, Charlotte Douglas of New Hebron; four sons, Rev. Gene Douglas (Brenda) of Laurel, James Douglas of New Hebron, Toby Douglas (Toni) of New Hebron and Archie Douglas (Shelly) of Brandon.; one daughter, Becky Myers (Tim) of Durant; one step-son Judge Tyson Prestwood (Susan) of Byram; one brother Phillip Douglas of Hazlehurst; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. First Visitation will be Tuesday April 9, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00 pm at Saulters Funeral Home. Second Visitation will be Wednesday April 10, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at New Hebron Baptist Church.
