Funeral Services for Mrs. Edna Courtney will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Courtney passed away from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at her residence in Clinton. Reverend Carl Prewitt will officiate and interment will be in the Bassfield Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Dolan McRaney, Demetre Apostolidis, Tom Sims, Jeff Hudson, Brian Courtney, and Scott Courtney. Willie Edna Dolan Courtney was born on January 25, 1936, in Carson to John Alexander Dolan and Annie Fagan Dolan. Mrs. Courtney was a 1954 graduate of Carson High School and was retired from Packard Electric after 25 years of employment. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Byram. Mrs. Courtney was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her daughter, Renee Courtney Goodin. Survivors include her husband, Jack Courtney of Clinton; Children, Dena Courtney Booth of Clinton, Kay Courtney Sims (Tom) of Powder Springs, GA, Alton Courtney (Rosanne) of Raymond, and Tim Courtney (Kelly) of Terry; 8 grandchildren, Kimberly Apostolidis (Demetre), Courtney Sims, Meredith Sims, Anna Sims, Russell Courtney (Selena), Josh Courtney, Hannah Courtney Welch (Tucker), and Dolan Courtney; 3 great-grandchildren, Ty Courtney, Alexander Apostolidis, and Elli Cortney; a sister-in-law, Linda Pennington (Glen); and a brother-in-law, David Courtney (Jan); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
