Edna Merle Odom

Homegoing services for Mrs. Edna Merle Odom will be conducted from the sanctuary of First Pentecostal Church, 5000 I-55 South, Jackson, MS, at 7:00 pm Friday evening, January 2, 2026, with the Reverend Greg Frazier officiating. Interment will follow Saturday, January 3, at 1:00 pm at the Dykes Chapel Cemetery in Richton. Mrs. Odom entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Saturday evening, December 27, 2025, at her home in Florence. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm until the hour of service at 7:00 pm at First Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

Edna Merle Odom was born on July 10, 1944, in Richton, Mississippi to William and Elsie Dunnam. She was a loving and vibrant person who dedicated her life to nurturing her family and spreading kindness.

She married her sweetheart, L.M. Odom on February 28, 1964, and together, they built a home filled with God's love, laughter, and joy. They lived a life of devotion to each other, their family, and God. Edna will be remembered for her passionate love for family and friends. She enjoyed quality time and contagious laughter with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her yard, growing beautiful flowers. She taught her family the importance of praying, reading God's Word, and of compassion and kindness. Some of her happiest times were spent with her two grandsons, Connor and Bryan, whom she called P&J, Pride and Joy. Mrs. Odom was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson.

In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, L.M. Odom.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Stephanie Bradshaw (George) and Aleta Guthrie (David); her bonus daughters, Vicki Tiller (Wally), Nikki Hannah (Jonathan); her grandsons, Connor Bradshaw (fiancée, Morgan Neely) and Bryan Guthrie; her bonus granddaughters, Whitni Thornhill (Shannon), Kristen Wade (Benji); her twin brother, James Dunnam (Ann); and a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly cherished.
