Graveside services for Ms. Evelyn Lee will be conducted on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 3:30 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Shivers, MS. Reverend Mike Grenn will officiate. Ms. Lee, age 89, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello. Saulters Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Evelyn Lee was born on January 4, 1933, in Simpson County, MS, to William Houston and Lela Ray Berry Lee. Ms. Lee lived in Shivers her entire life and after graduating high school, she attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College. In her younger years, she worked as a switchboard operator; however, most of her life was spent as a homemaker while living with and taking care of her mother. "Aunt Evelyn", as she was known to family, centered her life around her nieces and nephews. She will be tremendously missed. Ms. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, William Houston and Lela Ray Lee and her 3 sisters, Helen Lee Leach, Hilda Lee Kersh and Jewell Sherman. She is survived by a brother, Mim W. Lee, Sr of Shivers as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Wally Lee, Randy McCloud, Pat Sutton, Hunter Sutton, Andy Sutton, Matthew Fox and Patrick Sutton. Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Spring Hill Cemetery with the service commencing at 3:30.
