Funeral services for Thomas Gary Harvey, Sr. will be conducted Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel. Reverend Tom Jackson, Reverend Richard Green and Reverend Jimmy Harvey will officiate. Mr. Harvey, age 82, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord late Tuesday night, January 4, 2022 at the Lawrence County Nursing Home in Monticello, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harvey was born on September 7, 1939 in Prentiss, MS to Thomas A. and Elizabeth Caroline Faler Harvey. Gary enjoyed watching sports; especially Duke Basketball and Saints Football. He and his beloved bride, Betty, enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Gary loved to fish for Largemouth Bass and Bream as well as hunt for squirrels in his younger years. In addition, he also owned and operated the NAPA Auto Parts store in Prentiss for over 30 years and was also a Mason. Gary was a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church in Prentiss where he served in various roles as Sunday School teacher, song leader and also was a deacon. Serving as Pallbearers are Garrett Harvey, Pace Harvey, Scott Harvey, Wendell Albernathy, Jimmy Albernathy and Calvin Albernathy. Honorary Pallbearers are Phillip Herring, David Miller and Tommy McCraw. Mr. Harvey was preceded in death by his infant son, Charles Edward Harvey. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 62 years, Betty Harvey of Prentiss; his daughter, Pamela Harvey Wallace (George) of Columbia, MS; his son, Thomas Gary Harvey, Jr. of Prentiss; 1 brother, Jimmy Harvey of Monticello and 1 sister, Norma Williamson of Prentiss. Mr. Harvey also leaves behind 3 grandchildren, Garrett Thomas Harvey, Courtney Jill Krug, Pace Blake Harvey and 2 great-grandchildren; Jaxon Harvey and Garrison Harvey. The family will receive friends Friday morning, January 7, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
