Gary will be carried to his final rest Brady Boleware, Brennen Boleware, Brogan Mason, Steven Boleware, Paul Smith, and Robert Evans.
Gary was born on January 3, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Willie Senete and Lois Irene Hutchinson Roberts. Having grown up in Louisiana, he moved to Prentiss with his family when he was a teenager. Gary worked many years as a flooring installer, where he showcased his exceptional skills and attention to detail. His love for his work was evident, as he would often ride through neighborhoods, pointing out homes where he had installed flooring, reminiscing about the past. Gary’s passion for his craft earned him respect in the community, where his artistry transformed many spaces into welcoming homes.
Gary had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed observing nature and the animals that inhabit it. He was a gentle soul who embraced the beauty of the world around him, choosing to appreciate nature rather than hunt. This love for the outdoors was paralleled by his passion for good food and cooking, particularly on the BBQ grill. Gary will also be remembered for his love for his dogs and, later, cats he had through the years. Mr. Roberts was a member of Santee Baptist Church.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Willie Roberts (Angie), his mother, Lois Roberts, and his sister, Elizabeth Smith.
His memory will forever be cherished by his significant other of 21 years, Lezlie Hudson of Collins; and his sister, Alison Boleware (Steven) of Prentiss. Gary also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
