Funeral services for Mr. George Edward Strack Jr. will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2025, at Santee Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery. The Reverend Brad Roberts is officiating. Mr. Strack, age 76, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his residence in Bassfield.

The family will receive friends on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m. at Santee Baptist Church.

George was born on September 18, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska, to George Edward, Sr., and Alice Volcek Strack. Raised in Omaha, George later moved to South Mississippi, where he put down roots and raised his family.

He was a hard-working man all of his life and worked many years as a butcher. George had a true passion for nature and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing. The outdoors brought him immense joy. His love for animals was a testament to his kind-hearted nature, and his loyal companion, Dash, brought him great happiness and comfort. In addition, George was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He will also be remembered as a man of deep faith, who loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a devoted member of Santee Baptist Church, where he found strength and inspiration in studying the Bible. George Strack lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.

Mr. Strack is preceded in death by his father, George Edward Strack, Sr. and mother, Alice Elliott; brother, Wesley Strack; half-sisters, Terri Lindsey, and Kim Strack.

His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Pamela Dyess Strack of Bassfield; daughters, Erica Bertschler (Brian) of Madison, Shannon Kangeter of Ellisville, Missy Pierce (Bryan) of Seminary; son Bobby Strack (Toni) of Houston, TX; step-daughter, Mandi Pannel (Jeffery) of Sumrall; step-son, James Brandon Broome of Sumrall; sister, Tracy Horner of Florence; brothers, Bob Strack and David Strack, both of Hattiesburg and his half-brother, Tim Strack of Omaha, NE. Mr. Strack also leaves behind 2 granddaughters, Anna and Raegan, 12 additional grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.
