Hamilton Carl Bush, Jr. was born on October 22, 1953 in Prentiss, MS to Hamilton Carl, Sr. and Hazel Hill Bush. A graduate of the New Hebron Attendance Center, Mr. Bush enrolled at the Copiah-Lincoln (Co-Lin) Jr. College and afterwards graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where he earned his degree in Industrial Maintenance Engineering Technology. Mr. Bush was a devoted employee in the maintenance engineering division of St. Regis Paper Company and its successor, Georgia Pacific Paper Company, where he retired after many years of service.
"Ham" as he was known to his many friends, was a beloved member of the New Hebron Community. His devotion to his career and hobbies was surpassed only by his commitment to his family. His sons warmly recall special times with their father, such as fishing trips when they were younger. His devotion as a nurturing and doting father only grew over the years as he proudly assumed the role of "Hampaw" with the addition of grandchildren to his family. Ham and his wife, Debbie, enjoyed 49 years of wonderful marriage. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed travelling out to the Western states where they enjoyed sightseeing and the continuation of making memories. Ham also thoroughly enjoyed spending time on his farm where he not only tree farmed, but, in earlier years, also raised cattle. Without reservation; however, Mr. Bush was most passionate about his Lord and his church, New Hebron Methodist, where he served as treasurer for 43 years.
Mr. Bush was preceded in death by his parents, Hamilton Carl, Sr. and Hazel Bush.
His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 49 years, Debbie Bush of New Hebron; sons, Chris (Michelle) Bush and Adam (Melissa) Bush, both also of New Hebron. The legacy of their "Hampaw" will also live on through his his grandchildren; J.T. Reid, Neely Bush, Mallory Bush and Rylan Bush.
