Hilda Barrett

Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Robertson Barrett will be conducted Monday, January 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Dublin Cemetery. Reverend Benji Sessums will officiate. Mrs. Barrett entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Friday morning, January 7, 2022 at the Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Barrett was born on February 3, 1937 in Carson, MS. She was a member of Dublin Baptist Church, where she served as the church secretary for 17 years. Mrs. Barrett's passion was taking care of her flowers. Her yard was a place of beauty and serenity, with flowers of every sort. Truly having a green thumb, she could make anything grow; often taking a plant that seemed beyond help, only to have it grow into a thing of beauty. She loved for people to stop by her home and take in the beauty of her yard of what some described as a botanical garden. In addition, Mrs. Barrett enjoyed making wood crafts, such a bird houses and what nots. Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her parents, Nate and Jennie Robertson; her husband, Johnny Barrett; 2 brothers, Arnold Allen Robertson and Paul Robertson and 2 sisters; Lola Kirkley and Georgia Ray Robertson. Mrs. Barrett's memory will be cherished by her sons, Terry Barrett (Gwen) of Carson, Rusty Barrett of Theriot, LA and Michael Barrett (Sharon) of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jamie Cheramie, Christopher Barrett, R.J. Barrett, Chase Barrett and Chelsey Harris, along with 6 great-grandchildren. Serving as Pallbearers are Christopher Barrett, R.J. Barrett, Chase Barrett, Cooper Harris, Landon Cheramie, Barrett Cheramie and Norbert Barrett. Brother Lyn Holloway will present sacred music during the service. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 10, 2022 from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM.
