Among his crafts were macrame' holders and doll houses that included hand made furnishings, possessing the most intricate details; many of his works of art were displayed and sold at flea markets in the Nashville, TN area. His young life was described as comparable to that of "Tom Sawyer", the fictional character of author Mark Twain. He worked on a shrimp boat as a young man and exemplified the iconic all-American boy, enjoying one adventure after another. Brother Howard spent many happy hours making memories with those he loved; relaxing on the lake in a pontoon boat, fishing and having cook-outs with his family. In addition, he had an affinity for baseball. Brother Howard was also a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International and earlier in his life, served as an assistant pastor to Reverend Lloyd Adcock at First United Pentecostal Church in Brandon, MS. A faithful servant, Brother Watson loved his church, his pastors and the Apostolic message of Acts 2:38. In addition, he was an anointed vocalist, using his talent in church services and Prison Ministry abroad. As a younger gentleman, he also sang with a Methodist quartet. Brother Watson worked as a Chief Line Haul Coordinator for Yellow Freight Truck Lines for 20 years. He was a faithful and devoted member of First Pentecostal Church of Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Paulette Watson; and siblings, Richard Watson and Gertrude Banes. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Darlene B. Watson of Terry, MS; 2 daughters, Kathy Ladd (Randy) of Portland, TN and Terri M. Case of Terry, MS; 3 sons, David Watson (Lamanda) of Hendersonville, TN, Michael Watson (Rachel) of Mt. Juliet, TN and Cody James Daughdrill (Kaci) of Carson, MS; Left to cherish his memory are also special extended loved ones, the Manivong family, as well as 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday evening, September 20, 2021 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at First Pentecostal Church, Jackson, MS, with the funeral service commencing at 7:00pm.
