James Smith

James Floyd Smith passed away late Wednesday night, November 16, 2022, at the Myrtles Nursing Center in Columbia. Mr. Smith was 75 years of age. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Bassfield Baptist Church. Reverend Ken Roberts will officiate. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Columbia, MS to Floyd P. and Imogene Blount Smith. A proud veteran, Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Air Force for 12 years. He spent his career as a technician in the field of Aviation Electronics. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd P. and Imogene Smith; brother, Douglas Blount Smith and sister, Elizabeth Anne Smith. He is survived by 2 daughters, Connie Smith (Larry) Holman of Kokomo, MS; Donna Smith (Steven) Holifield of Pascagoula, MS; sister, Mary Smith of Bassfield; brother, Larry Smith of Alexandria, VA and 4 grandchildren.
