Jimmy Lynn was born on October 9, 1954, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to Joseph Truett and Mildred Kendrick McNease. A lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County, he was raised in the Greens Creek community. Jimmy Lynn graduated from Bassfield High School, where he excelled in both football and basketball.

Jimmy Lynn and his wife, Cathy, made their home in Carson, where they lovingly raised their children. At the age of 19, he began his career with Georgia-Pacific, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, Jimmy Lynn's impact extended far beyond the playing field. He helped shape the lives of countless young people throughout the surrounding communities by refereeing football games, coaching Little League baseball, and assisting with the baseball program at Prentiss Christian School. His dedication, encouragement, and love for athletics left a lasting impression on generations of young athletes.

An avid Ole Miss fan, Jimmy Lynn was also known for his unwavering support of the Rebels. Yet, above all else, his greatest love was for his family, whom he cherished deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose love and guidance will be remembered by all who knew him.

Jimmy Lynn was an ordained deacon and a faithful member of Bethany Baptist Church, where he lived out his Christian faith through humble service, steadfast devotion, and a genuine love for others.

Mr. McNease is preceded in death by his parents, Truett and Mildred McNease; and his brother, Joseph Carroll McNease.

His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 54 years, Cathy Daley McNease; his daughter, Amanda McNease Perrin (John) of Carson; his sons, Gregory Truett McNease of Sumrall, and Peyton Lynn McNease (Ireland) of Oak Grove. The legacy of their Pawpaw will also live on through his grandchildren, Cole, Cade, Aleksei, Brittney, Austin, Helayna, Haleigh, and his great-grandchildren, Hadleigh, and Brynleigh.
