Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Lanell “Nell” Burkett will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 10, 2021 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Burkett, age 98, passed away from this life on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Prentiss. Father Chinnappa Raj Mark will officiate. Interment will follow in St. James Cemetery. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Julia Lanell Burkett was born on July 13,1922 in Lake Charles, LA to James Fagan and Bessie Tyrone Fagan. Mrs. Burkett was a marketer at the New Hebron Manufacturing Plant and she was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude T. Burkett; 1 son, Dan Hudson; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Mrs. Burkett is survived by 2 daughters, Bettye Hudson of Biloxi and Iva Nell Horsh of Carriere; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-great-grandchildren.
