Graveside funeral services for Karen Diane Dyess will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Greens Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Dyess passed away from this life on Saturday, February 22, 2020 in Hattiesburg. Reverend Eddie Hartfield will officiate. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Sean Chisolm, Timothy Jenkins, Josh Hammond, Randy Dyess, Christopher Whitehead, Ray Davis, and Larry Carter. Karen Diane Johns Dyess was born on October 22, 1946 in Prentiss. Mrs. Dyess retired from the Jefferson Davis County Schools after 26 years as a cook. She was a longtime cook at the Country Fisherman also. She was a member of Greens Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Dyess was preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Lathell “Rodney” Dyess. Survivors include her daughter, Penny Chisolm (Doug) of Lumberton; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Kayla Whitehead; 4 step-grandchildren, Christian Hammond, Ariel Jenkins, Robin Chisolm, and Sean Chisolm; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Mary Dearman of Flowood; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Saulters Funeral Home.
