Funeral services for Mrs. Kay Cranford will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday afternoon, September 28, 2026, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ron McDougald officiating. Interment will follow in the Tyrone Cemetery. Mrs. Cranford, age 92, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord early Sunday morning, September 20, 2026, at her home in Sumrall. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 28, beginning at 12:30 PM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cranford will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers including Ryan Williams, Justin Patterson, Ty Armstrong, Drew Cranford, Eric Cranford, Evan Cranford, Scott Shipman, and Chris Michel. Glenn Williams will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Kay was born on November 9, 1933 in Carson, Mississippi to Vernon Guy and Willie Wessie Broome Boleware. A graduate of Carson High School, she and her husband, Kenneth, made their home in Prentiss, where they raised their family and built a lifetime of cherished memories. A devoted homemaker with a loving and nurturing spirit, Mrs. Cranford found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. She enjoyed working in her yard and took great pride in tending her flowers. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Affectionately known as "Memaw" to her grandchildren and "Gigi" to her great-grandchildren, she had a special way of making each one feel uniquely loved. Each grandchild could always count on receiving a birthday card from her, always signed with her familiar and affectionate closing, "Lots of Love and Hugs, Gigi".

Christmas was Mrs. Cranford's favorite time of the year. She took great pleasure in choosing just the right gift for each grandchild, and would write a little hint about the wrapped present inside the accompanying card. She also treasured the family tradition of Black Friday shopping, which aways began with a visit to Ward's restaurant to kick off the fun-filled day, and a brownie from Chick-fil-A to bring the outing to a close. Mrs. Cranford was a member of Prentiss Methodist Church.

Mrs. Cranford is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Wessie Boleware; her husband, Kenneth Cranford; her siblings, Fran Duroy, Bobbie Magee, Daisy Polk, and her son-in-law, Randy Patterson.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Sheree Patterson of Sumrall, Melinda Williams (Glenn) of Oxford; her son, Eddie Cranford (Julie) of Bay St. Louis' and her sister, Brenda Simmons of Prentiss. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Adrian Shipman (Scott), Ryan Williams (Stephanie), Justin Patterson (Leah), Anna Armstrong (Ty), Drew Cranford (Elaine), Rachel Michel (Chris), Eric Cranford (Beth), Evan Cranford (Catherine); and her great-grandchildren, Bella, Wells, Lindy, Grayson, Addi Kate, Swayze, Ainsley, Evie, Will, Griffin, Carson, Ford, Carver, Cora, Ellie, Caroline, Matthew, Stella, Charlotte, and Everett.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kim Parker and Krystal Saucier of Gentiva Hospice, as well as to Mrs. Cranford's devoted caregiver, Kaitlyn Shows, for the loving and compassionate care they provided.
