Kyla Creel

Funeral services for Miss Kyla Creel will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Monday, December 22, 2025, from the Chapel of Saulters Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Miss Creel, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Kyla will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers, including Asher Creel, Greg Sherman, Kevin Saulters, Robert Turnage, Tommy Creel, and Wayne Bass. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bradly Baughman and Jonathan Baughman.

Kyla Jill Creel was born on April 16, 1989, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Franklin Dale and Karen Griffith Creel. Born and raised in Sumrall, she graduated from Sumrall High School and spent her life dedicated to the well-being of her family and friends.

Kyla's work as a caregiver exemplified her nurturing spirit. She was the epitome of selflessness, always ready to assist those in need. For several years, she devoted herself to serving as a caregiver, frequently driving family and friends to doctor appointments and providing support in any way she could. Her unwavering dependability made her a treasured presence in the lives she touched.

In addition, Kyla loved watching football and cheering for the Ole Miss Rebels. This zest for life extended to her personal interests, one of which included the joy she found in getting her nails done—a simple pleasure and one of the highlights of her week. However, her greatest joy in life was being Aunt Kyla to her two nieces and nephew. Her devotion to them was evident in every moment they shared, as she embraced her role with enthusiasm and love. Kyla will also be remembered for her singing and involvement with her church family at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Kyla is preceded in death by her mother, Karen Griffith Creel; her maternal grandparents, Joe and Sue Griffith; and her paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Dorris Creel.

Kyla’s memory will live on in the hearts of her father, Frank Creel; her sister, Samantha Baughman (Bradly); her aunt, Dyanne Turnage; her aunts and uncles, Brenda and Lowrey Saulters, Ann and Melvin Hollingsworth, GiGi and Tommy Creel; her nephew, Jonathan Baughman; and her nieces, Rosalie Baughman and Daisy Baughman. Kyla is also survived by a host of cousins and friends.
