Funeral services for Mr. Larry Martin will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Flavol Rester officiating. Interment will follow in Bassfield Cemetery. Mr. Martin, age 68, passed from this life on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at his home in Prentiss. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
Larry will be carried to his final resting place by those honored to serve as pallbearers including Marty Martin, Logan Martin, Sam Martin, Houston Stringer, Gary Bass, Scott Polk, Justin Garris, and Michael Thornton.
Larry Thomas Martin was born on March 30, 1957, in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Eugene and Gladys Brooks Martin. He was a graduate of New Hebron High School and worked many years as an electrician. Having entered into the IBEW Local 480 Electrical Apprenticeship in 1978, he worked for Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant in Port Gibson, Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant in North Alabama, as well as many other electrical companies out of the Jackson Local before retiring in 2018.
Larry enjoyed a variety of sports, including water Skiing, hunting, and scuba diving, and his greatest passion was watching his kids grow up to enjoy the same things. Larry also loved every minute of being a very proud Pappy and spent years traveling from state to state to support his grandchildren in their activities. Larry was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gladys Martin, his father-in-law, Glynn Dale Saulters, and his grandson, Karson Thomas Martin.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Sabrina Saulters Martin of Prentiss, his children, Simon Thomas Martin (Catherine) of Randolph AFB, TX, Carrie Leigh Spillman (Johnny) of Tyndall AFB, FL, and Justin Glynn Martin (Cameron) of Prentiss; his brothers, Brooks Martin (Tere) of Brandon, and Marty Martin (Tammy) of New Hebron. The legacy of their Pappy will also live on through is grandchildren, Madileigh Spillman, Hailey Stahl, Grayson Martin, Karlynn Martin, Easton Spillman, Miller Grace Martin, Autumn Leffler, John Lawson Martin, Lilah Leffler, and Luke Rivers Martin.
