Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Pearl Ratcliff will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at Landmark Baptist Church with the Reverend Terry Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Landmark Cemetery. Mrs. Ratcliff, age 96, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord on Monday, March 23, 2026, at her residence in Carson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Saulters Moore Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning beginning at 10:00 am until the hour of service at 11:00 am at Landmark Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ratcliff will be carried to her final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers including Carroll Watts, Charles Watts, Morris Watts, Brad Myers, John Brewer, Colby Carwyle, Carson Watts, and Garrett Carwyle. Landon Brewer, Sawyer Sanders, and Noah Brewer will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Lillian Pearl Ratcliff was born on October 2, 1929, to Wiley Thomas and Ida Lee Reid Dyess. A lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County, she had worked for many years for the Edward Hymn Company in Prentiss, as well as the Reliance Company (Pioneer) in Columbia. Among the many things Mrs. Ratcliff will be remembered for was her love of raising a garden and canning vegetables; but her greatest passion was her family. She was a member of Landmark Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ratcliff is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Thomas and Ida Mae Dyess; her beloved husband, Sherman Y. Ratcliff; her brothers, Dewey, Delton, Austin, R.J., Cleveland, Olin, Leroy, and Carl Dyess, and her sons-in-law, Steve Watts, and Gary Case.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Betty Jo Watts of Carson, Doris Case of Brookhaven; her son, Charles Ratcliff (Cindy) of Carson; and her sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Dyess of Brookhaven. The legacy of their Mawmaw will also live on through her grandchildren, Carroll Watts (Melissa) of Calahan, FL, Charles Watts (Monica) of Columbia, Morris Watts (Rori) of Columbia, Stacie Brewer (John) of Sumrall, Kimberlie Myers (Brad) of Carson, Lonna Rawls of West Monroe, LA; Lauren Case of Brookhaven; her great-grandchildren, Madison Watts, Carson Watts, Katy Watts, Lily Watts, Brooklyn Anderton, Preston Anderton, Mali Miller, Landon Brewer, Noah Brewer, Emma Sanders, Sawyer Sanders, Bentley Myers, Braxton Myers, Colby Carwyle (Kimberly), Garrett Carwyle (Anna), a great-great granddaughter, McKenzie Carwyle, and an expected arrival.

Mrs. Ratcliff's family also wishes to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Margaret Hartzog and also to Forrest General Hospice for their care and compassion.
