Martha Dewitt

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Dewitt will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Santee Baptist Church. Mrs. Dewitt, age 73, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Jefferson Davis County Extended Care Facility.  Brother Brad Roberts will officiate and interment will be in the Santee Baptist Church Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Jack Andrews, Kendal King, Kirby Daughtry and Luke Daughtry. Martha Dewitt was born on May 27, 1945 in Pascagoula, MS to Oliver Edward Scovel and Catherine Mesic Scovel. Mrs. Dewitt was a homemaker.  She was a member of Santee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her husband , James Thomas “Jimmy” Dewitt and 1 son, Jason Timothy Dewitt, Sr. Mrs. Dewitt is survived by 1 son, Tommy Dewitt of Bassfield; 2 grandchildren, Jason Timothy Dewitt, Jr and Savannah Dewitt of Bunker Hill; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Jeri Doughtery (Fred) of Lancaster, PA; 1 niece, Kathy Doughtery of Lancaster, PA and 1 sister-in-law, Marilyn Daughtry of Sumrall.
