Hazel Paulette Bridges Foster, age 80, of Silver Creek, Mississippi, passed peacefully from this life on January 19, 2026. She was a godly woman of deep and steadfast faith whose life was marked by service, strength, and unconditional love. Through every trial and tribulation she encountered, Paulette remained anchored in her faith and unwavering in her devotion to others.
Born on December 7, 1945, and raised in Silver Creek, Mississippi, Paulette was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Hazel Bridges. Her greatest joy was her large, close-knit family and the many friends she held dear. Her home was always a place of warmth and welcome, with her kitchen serving as the gathering place for Sunday dinners, holiday celebrations, and anyone who happened by to enjoy her homemade biscuits or famous coconut pound cake.
Paulette took great pride in her home and yard. She dearly loved planting flowers and working in her large yard, carefully tending a landscape that was always beautiful and inviting. Her home was kept spotless, and she made sure her family was always well cared for—clothes clean and neatly ironed, and every need met with love and attention. She loved animals and always took in every stray that made its way to her home or she found on the local roadways. To her family, she was truly a real-life superwoman and, without question, the best mother in the world.
She was a peacemaker by nature, never known to have conflict with anyone. Paulette was widely known for caring for everyone around her—family, friends, and members of the community alike. She often cooked meals for the elderly, checked on their well-being, and ensured they received medical care when needed. Her compassion knew no limits, and her quiet acts of kindness left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Paulette was deeply influenced by her grandmother, Minnie C. Dixon, whom she admired as a role model and guiding example. Driven by her strong faith in God, Paulette lived a life of purpose, giving all she had in service to her church and to those in need.
She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife of 62 years to her high school sweetheart, Larry, whom she loved wholeheartedly. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family.
Paulette is survived by her loving husband, Larry Gene Foster of Silver Creek; her three daughters, Jeannie Williams of Silver Creek, Jennifer Bass (Gary) of Silver Creek, and Jill Smith of Nashville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Jacob Williams (Ariel), Madison (Donnie), Austin (Kailey), Jerry-Lee (Taylor), Ethan, and Elizabeth-Jean; and her great-grandchildren, Jiles, Jayleigh, Avery, Adley Hazel, and Kynslee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hazel Bridges; her son, Jeremy; her beloved granddaughter, Julie; and her great-granddaughter, Aspen.
Paulette’s legacy of faith, compassion, and selfless service will live on in all who were blessed to know and love her and if you ever see a yellow butterfly, take it as a quiet sign that she is near, smiling and saying hello.
