Raymond E Broome

Graveside services for Mr. Raymond Broome will be conducted at 10:00 AM Friday, May 31,2024 at McPhail Cemetery in Carson. Reverend Jack Andrews will officiate. Mr. Broome, age 73, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 in Hattiesburg. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Broome was born on April 1, 1951, in Jefferson Davis County, MS to Ellis Albert and Joyce Smith Broome.  He started school in Carson at 5 years of age and was later a graduate of Prentiss High School.  He worked as a surveyor for Texas Eastern Pipeline.  He loved anything to do with the outdoors whether it be working with his cattle, enjoying his skills as a gardener and just anything that related to wildlife. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association as well as a member of Ducks Unlimited.  Raymond also enjoyed reading any sports magazine he could get his hands on.  He was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Albert Broome; mother, Joyce Smith (Broome) Moore; stepfather, John Moore.

His memory will forever be cherished by his brother, Gregory A. Broome (Marla).

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1925, Merrifield, VA 22116-9649.
