Richard B. Speights

Graveside services for Mr. Richard Bryan Speights will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2022, at the Whitesand Cemetery in Prentiss. The Reverend Billy Bridges will officiate. Mr. Speights, age 50, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 31, 2022, at his home in New Hebron. Friends and family may gather at the cemetery beginning at 1:30 PM Saturday. Pallbearers include Matthew Foster, John Foster, Shannon Sanders, Daniel Sanders and Brian Lambert. Richard Bryan Speights was born in Prentiss, MS on November 30, 1971 to Billy Richard and Dixie Lee Speights. Bryan was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. A "country boy" at heart, he also enjoyed riding the back roads of Jefferson Davis County and the surrounding area. His wife fondly remembers that he had a talent for being a handyman and could fix nearly anything. Mr. Speights was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Richard and Dixie Nell Speights. Bryan's memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Linda Dunn Speights of New Hebron; his daughter, Taylor Speights of Gulport; 2 step-daughters, Amanda Boleware of Oak Grove, MS, Kayla Boleware of Colorado; 1 sister, Pam Winnon of Petal and 6 step-grandchildren.
