Rita Dixon

Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Joyce Dixon will be conducted at 11:00 AM  Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Marcus Burnham officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dublin Cemetery.  Mrs. Dixon, age 66, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord early Monday morning, October 16, 2023, at the Forrest General Hospital.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, October 21, beginning at 9:30 AM until the hour service at 11:00 AM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Rita Joyce Dixon was born on July 30, 1957 in Jefferson Davis County to James and Addie Mae Crawley Ward.  Mrs. Dixon thoroughly enjoyed reading Amish Christian Novels.  In addition, she also enjoyed working in her flowers when she lived in the Carson area.  Her daughters also recall how their mother was an excellent cook, especially enjoying her spaghetti and cheesy broccoli casserole.  Mrs. Dixon was a member of Dublin Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Dixon in 2014 and her brother-in-law Danny Daniels.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Jennifer Dixon (Chris) Sumrall of Hattiesburg, Jessica Dixon (Ben) Smith of Brooklyn and her 2 sisters, Carolyn (Royce) Sumrall of Sumrall and Shirley Daniels of Prentiss.  The legacy of his Granny will also live on through her grandson, Ray Estay.
