Graveside funeral rites for Mr. Robert Allen will be held at 3:oo pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in the Calvary Cemetery in Silver Creek. Mr. Allen, age 100, passed away from this life to his eternal home on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at his residence near Carson. Brother Bengie Sessums will officiate. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Ricky Barrett, Patrick Barrett, Daven Dyess, Alton Herrington, Thomas Kirkley, and Gary Wheat. Honorary Pallbearer will be Lyn Holloway. Robert Glynn Allen was born in Silver Creek on August 8, 1920, to Harris Seymore Allen and Myrtle Ella Nelson Allen. Mr. Allen was a farmer and heavy equipment operator. Robert Allen was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Allen attended the Carson Baptist Church for over 20 years and was a member of Old Silver Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his mother and father and 1 sister, Lillian Ann Sisk. Survivors include 1 son, David Allen (Pam) of Pace, FL; 3 daughters, Rebecca Allen Sutter of Prentiss, Jill Allen of Pascagoula, and Julie Allen Craven (Russell) of Lucedale; 5 grandchildren, Brandon Allen, Brooke Allen Sawyer, Clint Craven, Megan Sutter, and Noah Craven; and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
