Obituary

Rodger Dale O'Quin passed away early Saturday morning, April 11, 2026, at the Columbia Health and Rehabilitation Center. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Rodger Dale O’Quinn was one of six children born to Addie Mae Raynes & Elvis O’Quin. He spent many years in the oilfield dedicating himself to a life of hard work, providing for himself through honest labor. After Retirement, he found peace in the simple things-especially spending time outdoors cutting grass and taking pride in keeping neighborhood yards beautiful.

He lived a quiet life but one rooted in routine, independence and the small joys that made him who he was. Though his circle may have been small, his life was meaningful and worthy of remembrance. He shared a special bond with an olde English bulldog named Franklin that he affectionately called “Big Head” whom he watched over closely.

Rodger is preceded in death by parents Addie Mae & Robert Breaux and Elvis O’Quin; longtime companion Betty Robbins; sister, Linda Frances (Fran) Smith (Mitchell); and brothers, Billy Carl O’Quin, Jackie Lee O’Quin, and Alton Ray O’Quin (Betty) .

He is survived by his brother, Malcolm (Dub) O’Quin: sister-in-law, Peggy O’Quin; nephews, Kevin O’Quin, Billy O’Quin (Melissa), and Mitchell Smith (Angie); and nieces, Wanda O’Quin and Juanita O’Quinn-Morton (Eddie). He spent the last years of his life residing with Juanita & Eddie Morton and “Big Head".
