The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Born on June 7, 1934, in Jefferson Davis County, to Lee Howell and Grace Viola Garner Myers, Sammy grew up with a strong sense of faith and a heart devoted to serving others. After graduating from Carson High School, he dedicated over 50 years to his career as a landscaper and tree surgeon, where he meticulously manicured the palm trees of Florida, leaving a lasting impact on the area's natural beauty.

Sammy will be remembered not only for his impressive work in landscaping but also for his deep commitment to his faith and the greater good. A man who loved Jesus with all his heart, he lived out his Christian values through acts of kindness and generosity. His life was characterized by an unwavering commitment to helping those less fortunate, offering support and guidance to many in need. Alongside his wife, he fostered numerous children throughout the years, welcoming them into their home with love and offering them the Christian guidance necessary to navigate life's challenges. He also imparted vital occupational skills to equip them for successful futures.

A cherished role model, Sammy was particularly active in the Boys Clubs of America organization. His sons fondly recall their father's dedication to mentoring many young men, providing them with invaluable support during their formative years. This dedication to fostering growth in others mirrored the love he extended to his own family.

One of his proudest accomplishments was answering the call to spread the good news of Jesus Christ in Mexico, a mission he undertook with his wife for over two decades. Together, they founded the Grace Baptist Church, which holds special significance as it bears the name of his beloved mother. Mr. Myers attended Carson Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Myers is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Myers; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Myers; and 9 great-grandbabies who were silently born and now forever reside in heaven’s splendor.

His memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, Barbara (Jack) Andrews of Carson, Donna (Charles) Hutchins of Mullins, SC; his sons, Tommy (Diane) Myers of Carson, Tim (Anita) Myers of Loxley, AL, and Mark (Annie) Myers of Black Mountain, NC. The legacy of their Pawpaw Sam will also live on through his 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
