Willard Raymond Buffington

Funeral services for Mr. Willard Raymond "Buff" Buffington will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Hepzibah Baptist Church with interment following in the Hepzibah Cemetery.  Mr. Glenn Buffington will officiate, assisted by Rev. Matt Robinson.  Mr. Buffington, age 83, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at his home in Silver Creek.

The family will receive friends Saturday, 2 hours prior to the funeral service, beginning at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Hepzibah Baptist Church.

Serving as Pallbearers are Chris Buffington, Jr., Ramondo Buffington, Tommy Eubanks, Anthony Buffington, Dawson Barnes and Layton Neal.  Honorary Pallbearers include Aubrey Strange, Andrew Buffington, Jared Neal and Dillon Barnes.

Willard Raymond Buffington was born on June 29, 1940 in Lucedale, Mississippi to Oliver Elisha and Mary Heathcock Buffington.  Buff was an educator and coach for 43 years and a member of Hepzibah Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Frankie Buffington; his brother, Roland Buffington; his son, Clay Buffington; and a bonus great-grandchild, Kaelyn Louise Barnes.  

Buff is survived by 1 brother, Glenn (Connie) Buffington of Haslet, TX; 3 sons, Tony (Christina) Buffington of Hattiesburg, Stanley Buffington of Union Church, Chris Buffington, Sr. of Hattiesburg; 1 daughter, Bridgette (Kenneth) Strange of Gulfport; 2 bonus daughters, Ramona (Jody) Neal and DeeDee (Bo) Barnes, both of Silver Creek; 12 grandchildren; 4 bonus grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 11 bonus great-grandchildren.
